Before doing my City and Guilds Diploma I started a quilt at Christmas time, it is the one time of the year when I know that I can work undisturbed and I have started one again this year. I wanted to have a break from art quilts and do some piecing, I found an embroidery pattern I wanted to interpret but as I was looking through my stash my idea evolved. The lap quilt is a present and I wanted to include a special message, not being a fan of loads of writing in fabric I decided to use the braille alphabet, twenty-nine letters became eighty-nine circles, the eighty-ninth of which caused me twenty minutes of angst as it fell off and hid! This is the half finished result. I have been very bad at keeping this blog site update and am going to make an effort to do better.
